This is a crucial IT Business Analyst role supporting our Hong Kong Treasury & Trade Solutions business. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring our operations comply with local regulations, enhance operational resilience, and drive key business & regulatory initiatives to success. This role requires strong analytical skills and experience working with IT systems and business processes, particularly in the financial services industry or similar regulatory environment. Prior experience working with companies operating in a similar business segment/regulatory environment with Faster Payment and SWIFT/Cross-border payment process would be highly beneficial as it will allow the candidate to quickly understand the local regulations and pressures, and effectively navigate the complexities of driving business initiatives to success.
This role will ensure compliance with regulatory mandates, enhance operational resilience, and meet the local regulator’s growing expectations. The candidate will provide on-the-ground support for the Hong Kong business, particularly for country-specific business strategic and regulatory mandated initiatives. The candidate will also conduct rigorous end-to-end operational resilience exercises as per the regulators’ expectations, focus on technology risk control and third-party outsourcing management, and prepare for and manage the increasing frequency of regulatory exams and assessments.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills to clearly convey complex information and build strong relationships with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders. The candidate will also have the ability to identify problems and risks and possess problem-solving and risk mitigation skills.
This role requires someone who can adapt to changing priorities and regulations, as we are a fast-paced and results-oriented team.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates activities of the project team, identifies necessary resources and develops schedules to meet completion deadlines.
Verifies project team adherence to control and risk implementations as well as standards and process changes.
Determines scope and impact of project risks and issues; raises and resolves issues.
Applies good understanding of concepts and procedures within own IT project leadership area to resolve issues.
Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how areas of IT project leadership collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business goals.
Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations.
Directly impacts the IT project leadership area through shared responsibility for delivery of end results and contribution to planning, budget management and formulation of procedures; influences resource planning.
Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
5-8 years experience in an IT project leadership role with commensurate people management experience.
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
