We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Database Administrator with extensive experience in SQL server and Azure to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems that meet our business needs. You will work closely with other IT professionals, developers, and end-users to ensure that database systems are performing optimally and efficiently.
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in (relevant degree) and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.
• Design, implement, and maintain database systems in Azure cloud environments that meet business needs and comply with industry standards.
• Develop scripts using PowerShell to automate routine database administration tasks and streamline database operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and incidents on critical production servers.
• Monitor database performance and implement optimization techniques to improve database performance.
• Work closely with developers and end-users and help them Optimize and tune SQL queries for high performance.
• Design, implement, and maintain database security procedures and policies to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
• Continuously evaluate new technologies and tools to improve database operations.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in database engineering and administration.
• Expert-level proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
• Strong experience in Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure SQL Database.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server and database management systems and production DB on call support
• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-availability database systems.
• Strong knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
