Spain Payroll Lead

Description -

This role is responsible for leading and coordinating payroll projects, reconciling employee expense reports, and maintaining vendor relationships. The role provides domain-specific expertise, contributes to complex projects, and ensures timely issue escalation and resolution. The role also participates in month-end closing processes and fosters productive relationships while mentoring lower-level employees.

Responsibilities

  • Leads projects and coordinates with the team responsible for all stages of payroll-related projects including planning, requirements gathering, development, testing and go-live.
  • Processes and reconciles employee reimbursement expense reports, ensuring adherence to company policies and guidelines.
  • Maintains positive relationships with vendors, handle inquiries, and resolves payment discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Assists in internal and external payroll audits, supporting the collection and audit of information for accurate processing and reporting.
  • Maintains all operational procedural documentation related to the area of responsibility.
  • Provides domain-specific expertise, leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
  • Ensures timely escalation of critical risks and issues, thereby enabling efficient resolution.
  • Participates in the month-end closing process by preparing relevant reports, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial statement preparation.
  • Applies advanced subject matter knowledge, leads, and contributes to complex projects, and exercises independent judgment in resolving business issues and establishing policies.
  • Develops and builds productive internal/external working relationships and may provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.


Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or any other related discipline.
  • 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in payroll/HR administration, payroll processing, or a related field.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
