General Summary:

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for managing the accounts payable department, with a team of accounts payable clerks, to ensure invoices are processed in a timely and efficient manner for the Company. Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company, the Accounts Payable Manager will provide the technical expertise to ensure the Company has the proper operational controls, and administrative and reporting procedures and support the Enterprise Controller in ensuring that the team in place can effectively perform the functions of the department and adjust to the requirements of the company as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business, or a similar field
  • Required experience and strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability for accurate financial records
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interface with senior management and staff
  • Experience with NetSuite or other accounting software for the middle market is an advantage
  • Knowledge of accounts payable best practices and use of standardized accounting policies and procedures
  • Preferably a licensed CPA

Core Functions:

Controllership:

Main process owner and manager of the following processes:

  • Procure to Pay
  • Weekly and monthly Procure to Pay reconciliations and schedule preparations
  • General ledger relating to invoice processing (record to report)
  • Assist the Corporate Accounting team with Intercompany reconciliations and debit memo Preparation
  • Accounts Payable Reporting, including aging reports, cash flow projections, and vendor performance metrics
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes for accounts payable

Supports the Enterprise Controller in the following areas:

  • Procure to Pay reporting
  • Financial audits
  • Tax audits
  • Budget and forecast

Provide support in flux analysis on different P&L accounts

Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices

Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or disputes related to payments or invoices

Document all processes supported by the accounts payable department and recommend/implement improvements as they are noted

Staff development:

  • Update and train direct reports on all accounts payable process and policy updates
  • Coordinate with direct manager all noted process/policy improvement and issues on a timely manner
  • Responsible for the direct supervision and serves as back up of the direct report/staff Participate in company meetings and projects as required from time to time
