This position is based in Boise, Idaho, and will require self-relocation.

As a Sr. Cost and Inventory Accountant, you will be responsible for the valuation of Micron’s memory products from raw silicon through final sale to the end customer.  Micron’s products are manufactured in the United States, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, and China.  Collaboration will be required with product cost teams across all locations.  Our team members are expected to use innovative problem-solving skills to maintain dynamic product flows and meet customers’ needs.  You will be asked to provide critical support to the Financial Planning and Forecast team and External Reporting team and to assist with special projects as directed by upper management.  Sr. Cost and Inventory Accountants will develop expertise in Micron’s manufacturing and ERP systems which provide an excellent foundation for career advancement throughout Micron.  Candidates for this position should be dedicated to the Micron Values: collaboration, customer focus, tenacity, innovation, and people.

Responsibilitiesa

  • Ensure accurate valuation of Micron’s inventory.

  • Generate product cost information to enable decision support and financial forecasting.

  • Manage changes to valuation models to support evolving product portfolios.

  • Ensure internal controls are effectively designed and driven.

  • Support the implementation of an ERP solution to provide a richer grain of inventory valuation.

  • Identify issues impacting the accuracy of inventory valuation and recommend solutions.

  • React to ad-hoc requests by upper management.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, accounting or related field of study

  • 5 years of accounting/finance experience

  • CPA or accounting degree preferred
