This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote and in-office working.

Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.

What We Do

The Project Governance Office (PGO) manages the portfolio of projects for Fidelity Investments Canada (FIC), focusing on prioritization efforts in order to meet FIC’s regulatory obligations and strategic business development, and ensure adequate capacity planning for Information Services (IS) and Business resources.

The Scrum Master serves as a facilitator for cross-functional Agile teams working under the Scrum framework. They lead the Scrum Team and collaborate with the Product Owner to deliver technical capabilities to serve the business needs and strategic goals. They coach the Scrum Team, Product Owner and the organization in understanding Scrum theory and practice. They facilitate Scrum ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, the Daily Scrum, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.

The Scrum Master is accountable for the Scrum Team’s effectiveness by enabling the Scrum Team to improve its practices, within the Scrum framework.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Lead the organization in understanding and adopting Agile Principles and the Scrum Framework. Help business nd technology teams identify areas of improvement in the Agile

framework adopted by Fidelity Canada:

  • Periodic advisory and coaching of the organization on Agile and Scrum Methodologies.
  • Continuous improvement reviews of the organization’s effectiveness at adopting Agile and Scrum.
  • Ongoing support and the removal of barriers between stakeholders and Scrum Teams.

Partner with the Product Owner for the Scrum Team to ensure the Scrum Team has enough

information to turn a product backlog item into a potentially releasable / implementable item.

Assist the Product Owner in building an effective “Product” (i.e. business system / application)

goal definition:

  • Clear and concise Product goal definition and backlog items that the Scrum Team can easily understand and act upon.
  • Address impediments related to unclear backlog items or changing scope.
  • Facilitate stakeholder collaboration across business and technology teams.

Establish or form Scrum teams as necessitated by initiatives / projects related to existing or

new Products and in collaboration with the Product Owner:

  • Documented Scrum Team roles and responsibilities.
  • Identified skillsets required to deliver on the Product Goal through properly resourced Scrum Teams.

Lead the Scrum Team to deliver on Product backlog items within a defined timebox, accounting

for the Scrum Team’s effectiveness by enabling the team to improve its practices, within the

Scrum framework.

  • Periodic reporting of Scrum Team performance through well-defined Key Performance Indicators (e.g. burn-down / burn-up charts, velocity, etc.), value generation, and taking into consideration feedback from the Scrum Team, Product Owner, and key stakeholders. Other duties as assigned.
  • Timely completion of other assigned tasks.

What We’re Looking For

  • College Diploma in Accounting / Financial / Business Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience.
  • Must Have: Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master certification.
  • Nice to Have: Advanced Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master II certification.
