Our team will give you this opportunity, in addition, we provide factory certification through our Service Technical Academy (STA). We will equip you with tools and a vehicle to perform your job at the highest standard. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

How you will do it 

  • Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites. 
  • Apprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards, and advancement. 
  • Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs. 
  • You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed. 
  • You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for the first year. 
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. 
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. 
  • This is a Bargaining Union Position 

What we look for  

  • Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner. 

  • Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site 

  • Self-starter with the ability to eventually work independently. 

  • Prioritize safety in all forms. 

  • This position requires a valid driver’s license. 

  • Demonstrated Mechanical aptitude and experience with tools

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude in the mechanical field.

  • Able to use hand tools

Preferred 

  • 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.  

  • Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques  

  • 1-2 years of trade school or college with a technical emphasis.
