About the Role

Allegro is seeking a talented and motivated engineering student / graduate to join the Functional Safety Team as a Functional Safety Engineer for a 6-months internship program, based in our Milan Design Center. You will collaborate and support the team analyzing electrical cars’ Electro-Mechanical Braking (EMB) applications from a Functional safety perspective, to extract and define the safety requirements for the different system components and propose a Safety System solution with Allegro devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze Electro Mechanical Breaking systems from a Functional Safety perspective to define: Safety Goals, Functional Safety Requirements, Technical Safety Requirements, Hardware Safety Requirement with Allegro Devices

  • Work with Power IC development teams on the application of, and compliance to, functional safety standards, i.e. ISO-26262.

  • Create and release documentation for functional safety engineers and product development teams to follow.   

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • BSEE or MSEE in electrical engineering or a related field (i.e. Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering).

  • Interest in automotive market and safety environment

  • Passion for innovation and future development of the automotive industry (EV, ADAS, Steer by Wire, Break by Wire, Battery Management)

  • Strong verbal, presentation, and collaboration skills, both in person and remotely.

  • The successful candidate will possess a good balance of technical and business acumen, be comfortable multitasking in a dynamic environment, and have strong interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with Hardware and/or Software in automotive is a plus.
