The UK fixed telco retail market is changing. Shifting from a product to a customer focus is essential to enable growth, digitalisation and scale competition in supply as AltNets reach continues to expand at pace. 

At TalkTalk we want to be the most recommended wifi provided in the UK, growing our customer base from 2.2m to 3m and our EBITDA for £54m to £100m over the next three years.

Focusing 80% of your effort on value creation and transformation, you will be partnering our Executive Committee, specifically the Sales and Marketing organisation as well as deputising for the Finance Director

Transformation

  • You will be the lead and participate in agile based transformation projects to deliver the company strategy, these will cover a broad range of topics.

Budgeting, Forecasting and Planning

  • Influence “go to market” plans, being a key decision maker and challenger

  • Ability to clearly articulate the drivers behind the numbers on a P x Q based basis

  • Organisation and co-ordination of the planning process with your stakeholders, inputs are completely aligned and available in a timely manner to allow for planning timetables being adhered to and correct level of scrutiny. 

Capital Allocation

  • Ensure sufficient allocation and investment on capital, with all proposed business activities and investments are supported by an appropriate financial business case and governance process

  • Assessment and challenge of commercial propositions, influencing strategies to drive margin expansion and long-term value for the business.

  • Collaboration and engagement across the Commercial teams will also be required to ensure the optimum balance is retained.

Performance Management

  • Understand the drivers and influences of performance against agreed plans

  • Hold individuals to account against their commitments

  • Contribute to the weekly trading Exco, including communication of trading updates and forward looking view of risk and opportunities

  • Ensure the CEO, CFO and all exco members are briefed on key areas of risk. 

  • Awareness of market competition and relevant promotions will be critical in allowing the business to react and flex the offerings to both maintain and grow market share

  • Leadership and development of your team and the wider finance function,

  • This includes outlining goals and expectations, having regular, honest, conversations around their performance & development, providing feedback
