The ServiceNow ITSM Test Lead is responsible for defining, executing, and managing the testing strategy for ServiceNow ITSM projects. With 8–10 years of hands-on ServiceNow experience, this role ensures solutions meet business requirements, perform reliably, and comply with enterprise standards.
Job Description
Develop and own the end-to-end test strategy for ServiceNow ITSM implementations (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, etc.).
Lead test planning, design, execution, and defect management activities.
Define and maintain test cases, scripts, and scenarios for functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Ensure test coverage for ServiceNow customizations, workflows, integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server), and upgrades.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to validate requirements and resolve issues.
Establish and manage test environments, data sets, and automation frameworks (ATF, Selenium, etc.).
Mentor and guide junior testers, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
Track and report test progress, metrics, and quality outcomes to project leadership.
Support release management, change control, and post-implementation validation.
Maintain comprehensive test documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
Security: Validates role-based access, data protection, and audit controls through testing.
Compliance: Ensures solutions meet regulatory and internal governance standards.
Scalability: Tests for performance and reliability under growth scenarios.
Documentation: Maintains detailed records for maintainability and audit readiness.
Required skills and expereince
8–10 years of hands-on ServiceNow ITSM experience, with a focus on testing and quality assurance.
Deep understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, ITSM suite, and CSDM.
Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and their practical application in ServiceNow.
Experience with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) and other test automation tools.
Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., ServiceNow Test Management, JIRA, HP ALM).
Experience with ServiceNow integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server) and upgrade testing.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to lead test teams and manage complex testing projects.
Strategic mindset with a focus on risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
Experience in multi-instance or global ServiceNow deployments.
Familiarity with security, compliance, and governance requirements (GDPR, SOX, etc.).
Ability to drive automation and efficiency in testing processes.
