What You’ll do on a Typical Day:

  • Lead an engineering team to build, operate, streamline, and maintain our Supply and Capabilities solutions to meet our suppliers' and customers' evolving needs.

  • Focus on planning and management with minimal time spent hands-on implementing technical projects.

  • Partner with product and design counterparts to understand requirements and priorities, solution business problems, craft roadmaps, and manage development from conceptualisation through delivery and ownership.

  • Create and maintain accurate project schedules, as well as driving tasks to completion.

  • Ensure your team meets their delivery commitments through an effective sprint planning process and daily standup meetings; facilitate team-owned process improvements.

  • Hire, mentor, coach, and retain a collaborative, best-of-class engineering team.

  • Foster career growth and a strong team culture of inclusivity, product ownership and quality, technical and operational excellence; lead by example.

  • Ensure personnel have appropriate skills and behaviours; and effectively communicate performance results; as necessary, managing each effort within approved workforce and budget guidelines.

  • Perform Quality Inspections and Walkthroughs, Architecture Review, Design Review, Code Review, and Security Review to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Demonstrate leadership in mentoring, establishing standards in documentation and clean code, and setting a professional example to the team.

What We’re looking for:

  • Have a bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of relevant work experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well within and across software engineering teams, as well as other functions of the company.

  • Excellent skills at encouraging working relationships and driving teamwork.

  • Experience in working with leadership across multiple product and engineering areas.

  • Draw on experience to lead technical designs and implementation of highly scalable and adaptable systems.

  • Expertise of professional software engineering practices and standard methodologies for the full software development process, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Technical skills: Java based technologies, micro-services architecture, cloud-native and distributed computing.

  • Exposure to delivering products using cloud infrastructure.

Technologies we currently use include Java, Amazon Web Services, Spring Boot, Kotlin, React.js, REST, GraphQL, Cucumber, Selenium, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, Kibana, Datadog.
