The Job At-A-Glance
Q2 is seeking a Mobile Software Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team of mobile developers and quality engineers to deliver an industry-changing fintech platform. You will be working at a company whose mission is to build stronger and more diverse communities by strengthening their financial intuitions, while working with Fintechs who want to bring change and innovation to the financial world. As the Mobile Software Engineering Manager, you will manage a team of skilled engineers working with Kotlin (Android) and Swift (iOS) to deliver a high-quality, secure, and scalable banking app. Additionally, you will ensure smooth integration with third-party services via our native SDK and oversee key aspects such as crash reporting, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines. It requires a highly motivated and focused individual capable of leading and building high performing innovative teams.
A Typical Day:
• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of mobile engineers (iOS and Android) in building and maintaining our native banking application and native SDK.
• Oversee end-to-end development cycles, from requirements gathering and planning through deployment and post-release monitoring.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and other relevant tools for automated testing, builds, and distribution.
• Ensure the mobile app’s performance, reliability, and crash-free experience by leveraging monitoring tools and crash reporting solutions.
• Collaborate closely with product management, design, and backend engineering teams to align mobile app development with overall product goals and roadmaps.
• Drive continuous improvement within the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Manage the SDK lifecycle, ensuring third-party developers can effectively integrate and extend the mobile application through native modules.
• Monitor and address technical debt, and ensure the delivery of scalable and maintainable code.
• Stay updated on mobile development best practices, tools, and emerging technologies, and incorporate them into the team’s workflow.
Additional Job Description
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in mobile software development, with expertise in Kotlin for Android and Swift for iOS.
• 2+ years of experience managing or leading mobile engineering teams.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Familiarity with monitoring and crash reporting tools like Firebase Crashlytics, BugSnag, or similar.
• Experience working on native hybrid SaaS products, particularly in the fintech or banking domain, is a plus.
• Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns (MVC, Native hybrid).
• Experience with SDK development and third-party module integration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
