About Linklaters

Linklaters is a global law firm, with 31 offices in 21 countries worldwide.

We have been named as one of The Times’ Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality for the tenth consecutive year; recognised by Stonewall as a top 10 employer for LGBTQ+ inclusion, and by the Social Mobility Employer Index as a top employer for advancing social mobility.

We love hearing from anyone who is enthusiastic about changing the Legal industry. Not sure you meet all qualifications? Let us decide! Research shows that women and members of other under-represented groups tend to not apply to jobs when they think they may not meet every qualification, when, in fact, they often do! At Linklaters, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and strongly encourage you to apply.

The Role

The purpose of the Legal Project Manager (Hub) role is to work with lawyers across multiple practice groups to understand and define their support requirements and provide high quality project management expertise in line with these.

The individual will need to work closely with our partners, our lawyers and our clients to plan matters, ensure that they are appropriately resourced, monitor delivery and keep the team and the client informed.

The Legal Project Manager may also be required to support activities to raise awareness of the LPM capability across the Firm.

Responsibilities

The Legal Project Manager will be expected to advise on how and where LPM support can be effective on matters, and deliver LPM support to a high standard.

Specifically, this will include:

  • Conducting matter ‘take on’ conversations to understand the matter requirements and advising how LPM support can best be leveraged.
  • Providing LPM support on matters in line with the legal project management service offering.
  • Supporting activities to raise awareness of the LPM capability across the firm (e.g. delivering training, supporting marketing efforts).
  • Supporting activities to develop and maintain best practice project management guidance.
  • Keeping on top of the resources and technologies offered by other parts of Alternative Legal Services and Legal Operations in order to be able to signpost lawyers to other suitable offerings to support their matter.

What we are looking for:

  • Highly motivated individual with a proactive, pragmatic and resilient approach.
  • Ability to build credibility quickly amongst team members and key stakeholders, and establish themselves as a trusted advisor.
  • Excellent at building, maintaining, and leveraging relationships to support both team and firm objectives.
  • Excellent communicator with ability to engage effectively with stakeholders of all seniorities to facilitate business outcomes.
  • Organised, logical thinker with high attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritise quickly, often in busy periods, in a calm manner.
  • Good business acumen and ability to work with numbers and financial / commercial concepts.

About You

  • 2+ years of experience in a professional services environment, ideally within a law firm.
  • Proven project delivery experience, and experience of change management
  • Competent in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Qualifications in project management, process improvement and change management are desirable but not essential.

The Team

At Linklaters, we are committed to delivering tailored and cost-effective solutions for the legal work we provide. This includes leveraging an integrated set of efficiency-related services provided by our Alternative Legal Services teams (Legal Project Management, Paralegals & Support Lawyers, LegalTech Application and Re:link).

Our legal project managers work on some of the Firm’s biggest mandates to provide project management support for both our lawyers and our clients. From understanding the client's requirements at the outset, to coordinating a debrief at the close, the legal project manager works closely with the matter team to support the smooth and synchronised delivery of the matter's non-legal tasks.

Legal project managers work with autonomy on their matters but are supported by a friendly and collaborative team who are always willing to suggest new approaches or share ideas.
