Regional Payroll Specialist

What can you expect?

Working as part of a friendly and motivated team of 3, you will be running a monthly payroll encompassing 750 staff across 2 sites, with varying terms and conditions, including shift pay, overtime and different time banks.

Our system for processing payroll is Hogia plus, and for time and attendance we use Tidomat. In addition, we use Workday as our system of record for human resource related activities. Previous experience of these systems would be beneficial but not essential, as full training will be given.

This position will report to the Payroll Lead for Sweden, working within a team to perform a quality payroll service to the Department, Company and employees.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • You will be responsible for the processing of a busy and complex monthly payroll to a high degree of accuracy with the payroll lifecycle. Activities include:
    • processing new hires and leavers
    • entering absences including sickness
    • running monthly reports and statistics for various internal and external departments
    • managing time and attendance
  • We regularly communicate with our employees in person following the monthly payroll cycle to give them an opportunity to ask any questions about their pay. Therefore, you need to be a confident communicator and be able to explain things clearly in Swedish.
  • Compliance is an essential requirement of the department, and we have a number of audits throughout the year to ensure we operate in accordance to set standards. We need to ensure all policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated and be aware of and demonstrate the need for confidentiality.
  • You represent the payroll department within the business and need to be able to build relationships and good working practices with other departments.
  • Within the role, there are also opportunities to support the wider business in relation to specific payroll projects and initiatives.

Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?

  • Minimum of 5 years payroll knowledge and/or recent payroll education
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation which impacts on payroll
  • Customer focused, understands and provides a high quality service with attention to detail
  • Familiar with payroll processing and adaptable to the needs of the department and team
  • Enjoys working in a small close team, where everyone’s input is important and valued
