This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface. You should expect that this foundational part of our vision will require your excellent communication and teamwork.

In this role you will work as a System Integrator, focusing on the integration of the Fluids and Propulsion and GNC subsystems. You will lead cross-functional trade studies, run integrated analyses, and define interfaces that impact the design and integration of the spacecraft.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the negotiator between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests to ensure the optimization of the spacecraft

  • Run propellant analysis, balancing inputs and needs from different teams using a detailed configuration management approach

  • Contribute to or lead architecture studies, concept development, ICD development, verification planning, vehicle integration, and operations support

  • Generate Concept of Operations (ConOps) 

  • Coordinate constraints and conflicting requirements across multiple disciplines

  • Ensure coordination of design changes and associated impacts across subsystems

  • Identify program risks and associated mitigations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical subject area

  • Proficiency in MATLAB

  • Technical knowledge in the Fluids and Propulsion subsystem

  • Experience analyzing and managing spacecraft technical budgets and margins, particularly propellant budget  

  • Highly knowledgeable of systems engineering practices, integration processes, and mission/safety critical systems

  • Strong ability and desire to analyze complex systems and deliver solutions to results-oriented problems

  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates typically have  5+ years of relevant experience

  • M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Electrical, or related technical subject area

  • Experience with fluids analysis verification approaches

  • Technical knowledge in multiple subsystems, particularly mission design, thermal, and guidance navigation & control

  • Experience with human-rated spacecraft

  • Experience with full spacecraft design life cycle

  • Experience with requirements definition and management, preferably using Jama

  • Experience with software tools such as Git, Jama, Cameo, Confluence, and JIRA


 

Compensation Range for:

CO applicants is $110,055.00-$154,077.00;WA applicants is $120,060.00-$168,084.00
