Join Kraken's international Finance and Accounting team as a Senior Accountant! Our team is growing and is looking to hire a Senior Accountant in Singapore to support our APAC region.
Our team strives to develop into a World Class accounting team ensuring a complete and accurate close in the shortest time possible. As we continue to build out processes and controls as well as improve existing processes, we’re looking for more strivers who are not afraid to pull up their sleeves and jump into the details.
Work on the consolidation close including the preparation of consolidation and elimination journal entries, supporting documentation, run consolidation and revaluation processes for the financial statements and perform checks on overall consolidated financial statements.
Collaborate with cross-functional business partners and finance teams across subsidiaries to record inter-company transactions, resolve inter-company issues, inter-company confirmations and ensure accurate consolidation and elimination entries.
Execute day-to-day operations and month-end close, including but not limited to journal entry preparation, accruals, balance sheet account and P&L reconciliation and inter-company activity reconciliation.
Manage the inter-company process and balances, including review and preparation of supporting documentation for inter-company netting and settlement.
Conduct financial statement flux analysis at the entity level for subsidiary companies, including drafting trend analysis and variance analysis reports.
Prepare support for regulatory, tax and compliance filings and reporting. Provide explanations for queries from regulators and authorities.
Perform walkthroughs, address questions from auditors and responsible for the audit schedules preparation and ad hoc audit supports.
Assist with system integrations and optimizations.

Possess the capability and willingness to adapt to rapidly changing priorities with agility.
Additional duties and responsibilities as required
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or its equivalent
Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) or its equivalent
Experience in financial reporting, consolidation, mark-to-market, revaluation, translation and inter-company accounting.
Background in accounting for financial services, fintech, banking, or an exchange strongly preferred
Audit experience preferred
Experienced with multi-currency accounting for complex business structures (eg. parent organization comprising of multiple layer holding companies and subsidiaries with various functional currencies)
Collaborative, innovative, flexible, and adept at building relationships across the organization
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Flexibility to work across different time zones during crucial time periods (eg. month end closes and/or critical business/system launches)
Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel including macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, SUMIF
Google and Microsoft suite proficiency required
