Hitachi Rail Portugal is a Competence Centre of Hitachi Rail whose mission is to integrate and develop solutions and products for Hitachi Rail projects worldwide. With more than 200 specialised human resources, Hitachi Rail Portugal has a strong capacity to efficiently design, develop and implement systems and services in the field of Transport.

Hitachi Rail Portugal is looking for a Network System Engineer to be part of a team within our Ground Transportation Systems domain.

Your life as Network System Engineer

Our Integrated Communication & Supervision (ICS) team is dedicated to ensure smooth operations and satisfied voyagers. Within this engineering team you will help developing our own line of integrated communications and supervision solutions, as well as integrate legacy systems from third parties so everything that the customer operate liaises smoothly. Reporting to the  Solution Engineer Manager, you will be asked to assume the following responsibilities:

• Participating in all of the engineering project phases: System Requirements; Design Documents; Installation Plans; Test Procedures; As-built Documents; Risk Analysis and Mitigation Plans;
• Participating in the Test & Configuration activity: engineering test documents preparation; supporting tests installation; systems configuration and start-up; completion of all acceptance and integration tests.
• Preparing and delivering workshops to the client;
• Collaborate with the team to ensure high quality deliverables within organization guidelines, policies, and procedures.
   

About you

• You have 2-3 years experience as a Network Engineer;
• You own a relevant degree in one of the following subjects: Telecom Engineering or similar;
• You have experience in IP/MPLS Networking  (fixed and wireless) design and configuration - practice on design and configuration of Switch/Routers from main Vendors of the Networking Market;
• High competency in Microsoft Office tools;
• You have the ability to use specific design tools (namely AutoCAD, and Visio);
• You are fluent in Portuguese and English (written and spoken);
• You are available to travel when required.

Other competencies (advantage)

• Ability to speak/read/write in French
