The Diagnostic Evaluation Stabilization Center (DESC) at New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital strives to provide high quality, state of the art, acute psychiatric care to our pediatric population in Washington Heights, Inwood and the surrounding areas. Our diverse patient population spans a wide range of cultural, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. DESC provides care to families that come from marginalized and underserved, lower socioeconomic status backgrounds, primarily those that identify as Latinx and African American.
