Job Description
Intern with Abrdn Malaysia equities team. To participate and aid in all aspects of equity research, portfolio construction and client communication.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Investment Support
Assist the KL equity team in equity research, portfolio management and client servicing:
- Equity research on stocks, on a project-basis; objective is to have a solid foundation in at least 1 sector’s fundamental knowledge, as well as how to arrive at an investment call, by the end of internship.
- Participation in daily and weekly investment meetings. Expected to query and even challenge on an evidenced basis decisions on buying/selling and the targeted weight.
- Updating of databases and reports used by KL equity team
- Helping equity team prepare, board meeting packs, presentations to clients and minutes for weekly investment meetings.
- Responding to client requests and queries
REQUIREMENTS
Skills/Knowledge
- Clearly demonstrable interest in investing, and eager to develop stock-picking skills
- Good communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
- Numerate & attention to detail
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
