What You’ll Work On

The Finance Supervisor, R&D Portfolio & Strategy has responsibility to support the development, maintenance, and execution of the processes necessary to identify, evaluate, and prioritize the ADD R&D Portfolio across the different R&D areas (Assays, Instruments, Informatics, etc.)

  • Responsible for the development of plan, quarterly RLBE, and balance sheet Royalty forecasts. Understand and communicate key assumptions and potential material risks and opportunities to the forecasts. Actively participate in RLBE and Confirmation reviews. Prepare schedules and commentary required for Division submission. Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities for Royalty related tasks.
  • Prepare business case financial models and recommendations to support R&D pipeline opportunity assessment and prioritization.
  • Collaborate with ADD R&D PMO (Program Management Office) to develop and maintain current and future R&D project portfolio including prioritization, development costs and resource modeling.
  • Develop forward looking analytics to support effective business investment and decision making.

Position Accountability Scope & Core Job Responsibilities

Develop and Maintain R&D Portfolio

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to understand the background of the new business case and gather key assumption inputs.
  • Work with R&D PMO to develop and maintain R&D resourcing models to optimize resource planning and utilization across R&D to meet current program needs and assess future portfolio demand.
  • Provide input to evaluate and prioritize R&D development opportunities across assays, instruments, and informatics.
  • Support the development of financial / R&D productivity metrics to assess R&D project viability. Evaluate projects in the R&D pipeline and provide recommendations to Senior Management with portfolio Prioritization decisions.

Support IP / Licensing:

  • Review contracts to ensure financial terms are accurately reflected in Royalty calculation files and participate in the due diligence process as required.
  • Calculate Royalty expenses on a quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis. Forecast Royalty expenses for RLBEs and manage related balance sheets. Working with Licensing and Accounting partners to make Royalty payments.
  • Present LBE Royalty Overview to Senior Leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required
  • Must have 5-7 years of progressive finance experience supporting Commercial, Operation and/or R&D organizations. Experience in multiple functions a plus.

Preferred Qualification

  • Sound financial analysis, sales forecasting, and dynamic modeling skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence others without direct authority, good negotiating skills, solid analytical ability, and ability to think and adapt quickly in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to support business partners while pressure testing assumptions.
  • Skilled in delivering clear, concise, and impactful presentations to senior leadership.
  • Attention to detail: demonstrates a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks, ensuring quality and precision in work outputs. Exhibits self-sufficiency in evaluating and ensuring the quality and accuracy of one’s own work.
  • MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • Working knowledge of in vitro diagnostic and therapeutic products.
  • Experience with Licensing, Acquisitions, or other deal related work.
  • Process development and implementation experience.

The base pay for this position is

$83,000.00 – $166,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
