About the Role:

The Associate, Event Security & Investigations is an ad-hoc security resource that will provide security support before, during, and after corporate events, conferences and other functions as deemed necessary by the Dow Jones Global Risk, Security & Resilience team.

Reporting to the event security lead, the advisor will be available to support any events geographically in the United States and abroad on a needed basis. In instances where travel is required, prior notice will be given for the scheduled event. The position is paid on an hourly basis for all work performed applicable to the event security operations process.

Position: Associate, Event Security (part-time, non-regular employee)

Location: Variable (US-based, hybrid)

You Will:

  • Work with the appropriate events team lead, based on specific events to be supported, to compile all relevant details and plan security operations, as required.
  • Utilizing best practice documentation and programmatic guidance, ensure all steps in the event security operations process are followed and develop and execute comprehensive security plans for specific events..
  • Enter all event security information into the case management system.
  • Schedule and perform walkthroughs prior to corporate events taking place and identify to stakeholders significant issues which may generate risk.
  • Contract security management:
  • Order the appropriate number of contract security resources by referring to the contract security standards document to include asset protection officers, if applicable.
  • Schedule and hold kick-off meetings with contract security resources on-site to brief them on all event details and response protocols.
  • Manage contract security resources on-site.
  • Arrange and perform walkthroughs for VIP's and other dignitaries, as required.
  • Communicate all incidents and emergencies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to all incidents and emergencies which may take place as events as the incident manager.

You Have:

  • Successfully completed a criminal background check prior to performing services on behalf of Dow Jones and the wider Global Risk, Security & Resilience Team.
  • Relevant knowledge or skills that pertain to a law enforcement or security related area of focus.
  • A current first-aid certification to include CPR/AED.
  • A reputation as a solid communicator and are a seasoned professional with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Good physical condition and health, fully capable performing emergency duties with moderate to arduous physical exertion.
  • A clean driving record and are of good moral standing.

Preferred Qualities

  • Prior experience ensuring security is delivered to a high standard for large, complex and highly-visible events.

Pay Range: $100/hr - $103/hr
