Job Description Summary

The Quality Leader is responsible for driving local execution of the quality strategy to improve product quality, process stability, and customer satisfaction. This role leads data-driven quality improvement initiatives, drives structured problem solving for quality issues, and acts as a key interface between the site, the global quality organization, manufacturing, and customers.
The role has significant responsibility for implementing global quality standards locally, strengthening the quality culture across the organization, and ensuring compliance with applicable procedures, policies, and quality requirements

Job Description

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement of product and process quality through structured analysis, effective issue resolution, and sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze, monitor, and improve key quality performance indicators, including DPMO, Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), Escaping Defects, and related quality metrics.
  • Lead and facilitate structured root cause analysis and 8D problem-solving processes to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Foster and strengthen a site-wide quality culture by working closely with leaders and employees to drive accountability, awareness, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Serve as the local quality representative to the global quality organization and ensure effective deployment and sustainment of global quality strategies and initiatives at site level.
  • Ensure implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement of GSCM quality processes, procedures, and policies in alignment with company standards and GE Vernova requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve quality procedures, work instructions, and standard operating practices to support operational excellence.
  • Act as the primary site quality interface to customers for quality-related topics, including issue communication, escalation management, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Ensure defined quality control processes are rigorously followed during remediation and containment activities.
  • Drive and own continuous improvement and cost-out initiatives within GSCM quality processes by applying Lean principles, structured problem-solving methods, and process discipline.
  • Support the preparation, execution, and follow-up of internal and external quality audits, ensuring timely closure of findings and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Global Quality teams to address complex quality challenges and improve overall operational performance.
  • Contribute to risk reduction, process standardization, and long-term improvement of site quality performance.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a quality role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to analyze and solve complex product and process quality issues.
  • Demonstrated experience with structured problem-solving methodologies and quality tools such as 8D, root cause analysis, CAPA, and statistical methods.
  • Proven ability to work with quality metrics and translate data into actionable improvement plans.
  • Good knowledge of quality management systems, audit processes, and quality compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of relevant GSCM quality procedures, policies, and operating requirements, or the ability to quickly develop strong working knowledge.
  • Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated execution capability with a high level of ownership and accountability.
  • Strong team player with high integrity, energy, and commitment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment as well as independently.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in people leadership or demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a matrix organization.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on experience in a shop floor / production environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and their practical application.
  • Experience managing customer quality concerns, escalations, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global and matrixed organization.
