Job Summary

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Corewell Health in Southeast Michigan is recruiting a part-time Laborist for the Grosse Pointe Hospital Campus.

Position Overview: The candidate’s responsibilities will include clinical care of patients in the Birth Center as well as supervision of Advanced Practice Providers.  Delivery coverage includes patients without a physician on staff, and emergent deliveries for the private staff. 

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
  • Strong skills in clinical obstetrics required
  • Unrestricted License - Michigan MD/DO
  • Unrestricted DEA License

Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital:

Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe is a 280-bed hospital located in the heart of Grosse Pointe. Opened in 1945 by the Sisters of Bon Secours, it was acquired by Beaumont Health System in October 2007. Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe offers medical, surgical, emergency, obstetric and critical care, and other specialty services.

There are 5 Grosse Pointe suburbs, all are suburbs of Detroit and located in Wayne County.  A combined population of 46,100, all have been demarcated as one of the best places to live in Michigan. Living in the Grosse Pointes offers residents a sparse suburban feel and most residents own their homes. The public schools in all the Grosse Pointes are highly rated. There are many restaurants, coffee shops, and parks.

The OB/GYN Laborist Role A is an in-house position which ensures that safe, high quality, evidence-based care is provided to obstetric patients and that hospital resources are managed in a clinically appropriate way. In sites where residents and/or medical students are present this may include resident supervision and education. The OB/GYN Laborist Role A is the primary, first line provider who is expected to be immediately available and present during the entirety of their shift.

ASSIGNMENT: 24 Hour In-House Call Coverage Program
LOCATION: High volume labor and delivery units (>3,000 deliveries per year)
