We’re looking for a Writer to join us at Heart Haus, the internal agency at CVS Health to enhance our online visibility, drive organic traffic, and improve search engine rankings.

This role involves creating compelling, high-quality content across multiple platforms (websites, blogs, etc.) and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and alignment with our overall marketing objectives. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of audience research, mastery of SEO best practices, and a talent for crafting content that resonates with our target audiences. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving content initiatives, reporting on performance metrics.

This is a hybrid role with the expectation that you will be in the Woonsocket, RI office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the creation and implementation of comprehensive content strategies that align with the brands’ goals, ensuring all content is optimized for SEO and user engagement.

  • Partner closely with the SEO team on the integration of SEO best practices into all content, ensuring keyword optimization, proper use of meta tags and alignment with user intent.

  • Participate in high-level strategic planning meetings providing insights on content and SEO to inform broader marketing initiatives.

  • Create compelling meta titles and descriptions that adhere to SEO guidelines, engage users, and encourage click-throughs.

  • Implement on-page SEO best practices, such as keyword placement, internal linking, and proper use of header tags.

  • Regularly review and optimize existing content to improve search engine rankings and enhance user experience.

  • Ensure all verbal and visual content, including colors, fonts, and logo usage, aligns with the brand’s style guide to maintain a cohesive brand identity across all platforms.

  • Writing and structuring copy that moves digital users toward accomplishing goals in an intuitive way, both short and long form copy.

  • Use data to help inform and shape content creation, generate insights and make data-driven decisions to optimize content performance.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in SEO.

  • Managing an in-house team. Oversee, guide and mentor a mid-level writer.

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health care experience.

  • Ability to write short and long form copy.

  • Advanced understanding of SEO best practices.

  • Experience working in creative marketing agencies or marketing organizations.

  • Experience with MRM tools (i.e. Workfront)

  • Passion for SEO and digital marketing

  • Understanding and knowledge of Google Products such as Analytics, Search Console, Looker Studio, Tag Manager and Google Business Profile.

  • Proficiency in using keyword research tools such as Google Keyword planner, SEMRush, seoClarity, or other tools.

  • Understanding of organic link building.

  • Must be well-organized and able to communicate ideas and develop strategies.

  • Strong team player with enthusiasm, positive attitude, and the willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Advertising/Communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience ( 4 years) .

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $145,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
