Our consultants on the ESI Solutions - Data and Analytics team help clients maximize the value of their data and automate business processes. This high performing team works with clients to implement the full spectrum of data analytics and data science, from data architecture and storage to data engineering and querying, to data visualization and dashboarding, to predictive analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence as well as intelligent automation. Our services enable our clients to define their information strategy, enable mission critical insights and data-driven decision making, reduce cost and complexity, increase trust, and improve operational effectiveness. We focus on client services, while also supporting business development, internal firm initiatives, and ongoing professional development.

About our Project

Guidehouse will be supporting a statewide ERP implementation, including the development of a financial data strategy that spans a state’s executive agencies. This position will concentrate on supporting key data strategy and planning workstreams for this digital modernization effort.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for leading a data strategy team of practitioners at the consultant, senior consultant, and associate director levels
  • Design and develop a statewide financial data strategy and corresponding implementation roadmap
  • Serve as the central expert voice and point of escalation on a workstream that will span data strategy, data profiling, data requirements elicitation, and implementation of complex data initiatives
  • Facilitate strategic conversations with senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups to determine the current state and organizational data needs
  • Lead data discovery and assessment activities to determine current data quality, data capabilities, and implications on organizational operations and data usage
  • Oversee data profiling activities and support the review and interpretation of results
  • Advise on best practices and tactical approaches to support effective planning and implementation of foundational and transformational data capabilities
  • Facilitate solutioning workshops with business and technical leaders to inform the financial data strategy
  • Provide guidance and advisory support on the organizational and change readiness factors and efforts required to successfully implement the developed strategy
  • Collaborate with client and Guidehouse technical leaders to determine the technical implications of the data strategy (e.g., data migration requirements, data architecture)


What You Will Need:

  • Requires a University Degree and minimum of TEN (10)+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Extensive experience in data management that spans across the data lifecycle and critical functions (e.g., data profiling, data governance, data modelling, data consumption product and services)
  • At least 3 years of experience working with financial data and understanding of key accounting and financial functions
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or another comparable data management certification
  • Ability to obtain clearance
  • Excellent communications and demonstrated hands on experience developing a data strategy for a federal and/or state and local public sector client(s)
  • Ability to lead data strategy development initiatives and definition of corresponding data use cases and implementation services
  • Knowledge of data governance concepts and practices, including establishing/enforcing controls to assure appropriate data privacy, security, and standard compliance
  • Experience serving as the senior voice and decision authority on complex implementation projects
  • Proficiency in facilitating requirements gathering (including significant business stakeholder engagement) and translation to a data strategy and technical requirements

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Hands on experience implementing data strategies
  • Experience implementing or managing large enterprise applications, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) software systems
  • Experience with financial data modelling, data migration, and/or data architecture development
  • Demonstrated work experience for financial services or public sector clients
  • Ability to support business development including RFP/RFQ/RFI responses involving data science / analytics

* Preference will be given to candidates who reside a reasonable number of miles from a Guidehouse office

The annual salary range for this position is $219,500.00-$329,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
