SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Warner Bros. Discovery seeks an Analyst for the Financial Contracts Reporting & Administration Deal Management department. The FCRA Deal Management department creates summaries of contractual reporting obligations to talent and co-production companies on all of Warner Bros. film, television, home entertainment, games, and new media libraries. It’s an exciting, fast paced organization that provides a unique opportunity to learn many aspects of the company---from production to initial film release through all downstream channels of distribution. FCRA provides excellent opportunities to learn the entertainment industry and offers a robust year-round training program.
The Analyst position is responsible for summarizing contractual provisions related to WB’s contingent compensation reporting obligations. This role is responsible for preparing low-risk financial abstracts, tracking new deals, researching contractual deal points, and preparing ad-hoc special projects and analyses.
Daily Activities
1. Using available information, (i.e., production reports, search engines, e-mails, and internal systems) populate and maintain Jira project management system tickets with data needed to track and schedule TV abstract projects.
2. Create digital folders for each project and populate with relevant contracts pulled from shared files along with supporting rights documentation to include MPM #’s and rights reports.
3. Prepare low risk contingent compensation deal summaries for MAX Cartoon Network, TBS/TNT and TruTV. Create abstracts shells for more complex projects (i.e. WBTV, Warner Horizon, Shed, WA, and HBO) to include creation of the cover page, product information pages and population of the default templates (including participants name, share, distribution fees and overhead rates).
4. Run “actuals” on request and during quarterly planning and analyze potential profit positions using standard deal terms.
5. Create Jira Stat tickets using contact information snips from participant contracts.
6. Assist in pulling contracts and abstracts for quarterly audits.
7. Assist with abstract distributions and other ad hoc projects as needed.
The Essentials
Work Experience
Related industry experience (finance and/or legal) and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and comprehend legal agreements.
Bachelor’s degree required in related field or work equivalent experience (i.e., finance, participations, legal).
Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel and Word).
Knowledge/Skills
Microsoft office including excel and word required.
Jira system skills a plus
Very strong English verbal and written communication skills
Must be comfortable with numbers and able to learn basic accounting concepts.
Nice to Haves
Must be a team player.
Ability to multi-task with input from multiple team members.
Must be curious and motivated to learn.
Ability to operate in gray areas and is comfortable with uncertainty.
