RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with the HOM Manager and the facility or functional leader to develop and execute a Continuous Improvement roadmap and identify key metrics (KPI’s and TTI’s) and lead projects to achieve goals in targeted areas
  • Lead the Lean transformation with a focus on improvements to safety, quality, cost and delivery
  • Study, document and evaluate current business practices, looking for ways to improve productivity, reduce costs, and make the best use of the business's resources.
  • Schedule, lead, facilitate, and manage Continuous Improvement projects including Kaizen events aligned with the company strategy deployment
  • Train and coach managers and employees in the daily use and implementation of Lean principles
  • Ensure consistent application of HOM practices, tools and templates (ie: Standard Work, Job Instruction, Daily Management, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Road mapping, SMED, TPM, Time Studies, etc.)
  • Audit, monitor and sustain the health of the HOM Lean culture by establishing and utilizing scoring systems, gap analyses, and countermeasures to assess implemented processes, and evaluate where further refinements are needed
  • Lead capital equipment projects as it relates to process improvement
  • Track the status of all HOM Lean activities, cost savings, training, certifications and events
  • Perform regular Gemba walks including leadership and area personnel to evaluate
  • Participate in the design of tooling, fixtures, and equipment as needed to assist with improvement efforts
  • Identify, evaluate, recommend, purchase, install and develop inspection and maintenance schedules for equipment including fixtures, tools, gages, etc. as required
  • Assist programming activities including training and integration with Engineering and Manufacturing for computer-controlled equipment and systems
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for manufacturing procedures and instructions

Education / Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Engineering, Business Management or comparable field
  • Minimum of 2-4 years related Lean experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Lean with Manufacturing and Supply Chain processes preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lean Manufacturing/Operational Excellence Principles, 5S, CI, SMED, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Standard Work, 3P, Poke Yoke, etc. required
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and coach required
  • Strong leadership and change agent skills required
  • Intermediate experience and skills using Microsoft Office required
  • Experience with ERP and Database software preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD design software preferred
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean certification a plus
  • Experience with Python, SQL, Pandas, REST API a major plus
