SUMMARY
The Foundry Sourcing Commodity Manager at Allegro Microsystems orchestrates the development and implementation of strategic sourcing plans for foundries over the mid to long term. Collaborating closely with Operations, Finance, Technology Development, Quality, and Business Units, this role is pivotal in managing relationships with foundry partners, interpreting market trends, negotiating wafer pricing, and collaborating on Strategic Business Review (SBR) meetings.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Formulate and execute a sustainable wafer sourcing strategy that aligns with Allegro's value proposition and growth goals.
Deliver actionable market, industry, and vendor insights to inform executive sourcing decisions.
Construct a comprehensive wafer market cost model and collaborate on an internal product costing model to project New Product gross profit margins.
Co-facilitate SBR meetings with foundry partners, synthesizing input from various groups to maintain and update foundry scorecards.
Spearhead quarterly cross-functional foundry steering committee meetings, ensuring strategic alignment with Allegro's immediate and long-term requirements.
Manage ongoing foundry partnerships, including contract negotiations, capacity planning, performance oversight, and pricing agreements.
Drive cost reduction strategies and forward planning initiatives.
Organize and host vendor visits, fostering strong supplier relationships.
Translate strategic sourcing decisions into mutually beneficial business plans with foundry partners.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5 years' experience in foundry sourcing or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering; an MBA is highly desirable.
Proven ability to collaborate with technical teams to select foundry partners and technologies, focusing on efficiency and long-term solutions.
Leadership skills to guide both internal and external teams in the development and execution of the foundry strategic plan.
Demonstrated capability to work with cross-functional and multicultural teams, driving towards unified goals.
Aptitude for translating technical details into business language and vice versa, ensuring cohesive cross-functional team progress.
Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Commitment to business process improvement and enhancing Allegro's profitability.
Proactive management of potential business disruptions to optimize revenue.
Experience in maximizing dual sourcing capabilities with minimal effort.
Competence in drafting executive summaries.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in a semiconductor fabrication environment is preferred.
Automotive industry experience is advantageous.
