As Director, eCommerce Finance FP&A – Marketplace, you will own financial planning, forecasting, and performance management for one of Walmart’s most critical growth engines. You’ll lead the LRP, AOP, and monthly forecasting process end-to-end, partner closely with senior leaders to deliver clear, actionable insights, and build a high-performing team grounded in ownership, curiosity, and results.
About the Team
The eCommerce Marketplace Finance team partners closely with Marketplace leadership to drive disciplined growth, informed decision-making, and long-term value creation. We sit at the intersection of strategy and execution—owning financial planning, forecasting, and performance insights that shape how one of Walmart’s fastest-growing businesses operates and scales.
Our team is highly analytical, collaborative, and action-oriented. We work cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Operations, and Analytics to translate complex data into clear insights, surface risks and opportunities early, and enable leaders to make better, faster decisions. As Director, eCommerce Finance FP&A – Marketplace, you will lead a small, high-impact team and play a central role in evolving how Walmart plans for and invests in Marketplace growth.
What you'll do...
As Director of eCommerce Finance FP&A for Marketplace, you will own the end-to-end financial planning, forecasting, and performance management for one of Walmart’s most strategic growth businesses. You will serve as a trusted thought partner to Marketplace leadership, bringing financial rigor, insight, and clarity to complex decisions while building a high-performing finance team.
Strategic Planning & Forecasting - Own the Long Range Plan (LRP) for Marketplace, including development of the financial model, scenario analysis, and formal financial submissions.
- Own the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) end-to-end, from modeling and assumptions through executive review and submission.
- Lead the monthly forecast across the full Marketplace P&L, including identification, quantification, and communication of key risks and opportunities.
Business Partnership & Insights - Provide clear, actionable financial insights to Marketplace and Finance leadership, translating complex performance trends into implications and recommendations.
- Partner closely with Marketplace business leaders to evaluate growth initiatives, trade-offs, and investment decisions.
- Proactively surface emerging risks, opportunities, and structural drivers of performance.
Team Leadership & Talent Development - Lead and develop a team of 3 finance associates, fostering a culture of ownership, high standards, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a talent magnet, coaching and developing team members in line with Walmart values and Commercial Finance functional competencies.
- Build bench strength and succession through thoughtful development and performance management.
Analytics, Automation & Ways of Working - Partner with Marketplace Finance peers and Business Intelligence / Data Architecture teams to automate forecasting, reporting, and performance insights.
- Drive simplification and standardization of FP&A processes, reducing manual effort and increasing speed, accuracy, and transparency.
- Champion modern analytics and scalable financial tooling to improve decision support.
What You’ll Bring - An ownership mindset and commitment to excellence — you consistently give your best effort, take responsibility for outcomes, and follow work through to completion. You operate with a results-over-excuses mentality and create clarity and momentum for those around you.
- Innate curiosity and learning agility — you ask thoughtful questions, seek to understand the “why” behind the numbers, and continuously expand your business and financial knowledge. You learn quickly, adapt readily, and apply new insights to improve decisions and processes.
- A culture-building leadership approach — you elevate the performance of others by setting high standards, creating space for people to think, and developing talent with intention. You act as a force multiplier, making your team stronger, more capable, and more confident.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical rigor — you bring deep expertise in FP&A, financial modeling, forecasting, and performance management. You can translate complex financial data into clear insights and practical recommendations that drive better business outcomes.
- Bias for action and proactive problem-solving — you don’t wait for perfect information or explicit direction; you identify what needs to be done, step in where it matters most, and deliver impact in moments of ambiguity.
