About The Role

This role is an individual contributor with responsibilities to collaborate within and cross teams, estimate, design and deliver product requirements in Android platform for one of a flagship and proprietary list of parental features in genstack supporting multiple brands. Partnering with product, UX and project management teams to arrive at feasible solutions keeping customer / end user experience as key driver. In addition, for this role you should be able to learn how to build at scale with a critical mission while also able to innovate like a startup. You'll tackle some of the most challenging problems, research and suggest the implementation of new technologies. Be proactive in addressing key infield errors and improve customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do In This Role

  • Develop and maintain our Norton Family and Household Android app.

  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.

  • Analyse, propose solution, collaborate with business and architects, size and design high level requirements.

  • Use good architectural judgment in developing software and test automation.

  • Implement application’s CI/CD pipeline using either Azure / AWS CI/CD stack (eg.   Teamcity or similar)

  • Influence and guide the team in adapting to advanced development methodologies.

What You'll Need To Be Successful In This Role

This role requires a self-starter who enjoys working in a collaborative environment that emphasizes working in small cross-functional teams with UX and engineering teammates as one unit on a mission to make the world a better place.

  • 6-9 yeas of relevant experience

  • Solid Android software engineering experience, developing scalable production software and an excellent command of engineering fundamentals. 

  • Are passionate about clean code and quality development practices.

  • Possess in-depth technical knowledge of native Android application development (Kotlin/Java) and testing. 

  • Proven knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices

  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning

  • Experience with KMP and/or Compose is a plus. 

  • Experience with publishing Android apps on Google Play Store. 

  • Passion to drive ideas to solution by documenting specification using block / sequence / flow diagrams.

  • Positive working attitude, teamwork and ownership are critical.

  • Preferred similar product / domain exposure.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
