Senior Specialist, Contract Operations and Analytics


 

What you will be doing:

The Senior Specialist – Contract Operations and Analytics is accountable for providing complex analytics and leadership in the development and execution of new and innovative reporting mechanisms and offerings.  This position works collaboratively with staff in Contracting, Performance Groups, Member Field Services, Data Management, and Operations to successfully deliver new offerings that are innovative to the market.  The Specialist performs analytics, complex data extracts, and presents findings and deliverables to key project stakeholders to support various areas including: contract launch, contract sourcing, and/or throughout the contract life cycle. In addition, develops analysis plans for assigned product categories, from member need identification to contract execution, which includes spend analysis, financial modeling, direct negotiations, legal collaboration and contract integration with electronic tools used by our members. The Senior Specialist is the lead subject matter expert for one or more categories, advising other team members on complex or sensitive issues..

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility #1 – 30%

Business Intelligence Tool (Tableau) Development: 

  • Develop reports for Sourcing Operations, Contracting, Performance Groups, and Member Field Services

  • Automate work and workstreams of the Sourcing Analytic process, wherever possible

  • Produce and maintain reports and tools built in Business Intelligence Tools (Tableau)

  • Imbed Quality Assurance mechanisms as part of the automated analytics production

  • Interpret needs of decision-makers and help design analytic output

  • Expand Business Intelligence Tool utilization into new capabilities and new reports to maximize value to Contracting, and member field services, where applicable

  • Continuously pursue opportunities for streamlining analytics production and developing new business intelligence capabilities

Responsibility #2 – 25%

Contracting Analytics:

  • Focusing on Complex Categories ONLY

  • Execute analyses for staying with current or converting to new suppliers

  • Partner with the Product Planning team to ensure the development of consistent analytic research in the pre-negotiations phase of sourcing that highlight and recommend sourcing rationale. This individual will drive the usage of all relevant and appropriate data sources to ensure accurate sourcing decisions are made.

  • Performs analytics and produces key targeting and performance monitoring deliverables for strategic contract launches. 

  • Identify, obtain and analyze various disparate internal and external data sources required for completion of required deliverables. 

  • Communicate with contract managers and have robust product planning, negotiations, and performance monitoring knowledge. 

  • Develop analysis plan for assigned product categories, from member need identification to contract execution, which includes spend analysis, financial modeling, and contract integration with electronic tools used by our members.

  • Complete pricing / spend data analysis.

  • Assist in the development  of award recommendation

  • Present financial data in award presentation

  • Adhere to the milestones and cycle times outlined in product category work plan, and notify team of deviations

  • Conducts supplier and market intelligence research and analysis – including price trends, market size, key suppliers entering or exiting markets, identification of US and Premier market share by supplier, identification of new products introductions, compilation of product forecasting and growth rates or declines by market sets, and identification or projections of possible dynamic shifts or trends within a given market between contracting cycles.

  • Perform product addition / deletion analytics.

  • Create Price Increase/Decrease Analyses of products currently on contract.

  • Identify and communicate regularly with supplier community to obtain market analytics and trends.

  • Works with suppliers and others to maximize the sourcing process and benefit the members

  • Assists Contract Launch in the development of the contract launch materials

Responsibility #3 – 45%

Centralized Analytics: 

  • Support Planning, Contracting, Performance Groups, Sourcing Operations, and Member Field Services by developing and producing global analytical reports using databases, analytical tools, and business acumen.  Provide in depth analyses that help Sourcing and the Field Force to fulfill contract performance goals through contract optimization, standardization, aggregation, and other methods.  Performing analyses that will encompass large groups or the membership as a whole.

  • Perform in depth analysis of market trends, product usage, and spend history

  • Complete projects through the development of various pre-launch analysis and savings calculations tools and resources that may include consistent reports, centralized database development, future standard, self-service reports, via Supply Chain Advisor, etc.

Years of Applicable Experience - 4 or more years

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Experience:

  • Project team leadership experience

  • Healthcare industry and/or statistics; Sourcing analytics or contract cycle analytics depending on need

  • Tableau, Qlick, Power BI, Microstrategy, WinSql

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $64,000 - $118,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
