Job Summary:

Develops and implements strategic outreach and communication plans to promote HR initiatives, enhances internal communications, and organizes events that foster increased employee engagement.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree. Experience in corporate event planning, business social media strategies, internal communications or employee engagement is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong project management and organizational skills. Proficiency in using promotion and communication tools, including social media platforms, email marketing software, and content management systems. Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with employees at all levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute strategies to promote HR programs, initiatives, and events.

  • Create engaging content for various channels, including social media, email campaigns, intranet, and electronic newsletters.

  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all HR-related communications.

  • Design and implement internal communication plans to keep employees informed about HR policies, benefits, and updates.

  • Collaborate with UMMC Marketing and Communications to develop content that supports employee engagement and retention.

  • Manage and update the HR section of the UMMC website.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute HR-related events such as training sessions, workshops, team-building activities, and campus-wide events.

  • Handle logistics, including venue selection, catering, equipment rental, event promotion, room reservations, event packets/nametags, staffing registration table, and volunteer coordination.

  • Evaluate event or campaign success and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Develop initiatives to enhance employee engagement and promote a positive workplace culture.

  • Implement recognition programs and activities that celebrate employee achievements.

  • Responsible for UMMC’s application to outside organizations for workplace recognition.

  • Serve as Co-Chair of or the Liaison to the Institutional Awards and Recognition Committee, who holds charge of developing and implementing approved institution-wide strategies, systems, and programs that create a UMMC work environment that acknowledges and appreciates employees’ efforts in a manner that motivates and incentivizes desired workplace behaviors.

  • Provide support for HR projects and initiatives as needed.
