Return to Office: As of October 15, 2024 Loblaw has adopted the following Hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues will continue working remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office.

Position Overview: 

As an HR Co-Op Student, you will have the opportunity to support up to 2 HR departments as you rotate throughout the term of your co-op. You will support several HR initiatives and be responsible for providing administrative support. This role provides first level support to HR Business Partners for their inquiries and services. In addition, this role will support various Loblaw Corporate client groups by coordinating and following through on various Human Resources activities and projects including Company-wide Human Resources programs/initiatives.

What You'll Do: 

  • Data validation in Workday for compliance and people objectives 

  • Gather data and perform detailed analysis of Individual Development Plans, Exit Interviews, Training, and other adhoc reporting. 

  • Resolve necessary payroll inquiries, updating colleague information in Workday, submitting IT tickets as required 

  • Headcount review, tracking, and updating org charts 

  • Revamping onboarding and training guides, prepare announcements for new hires 

  • Colleague Engagement Survey: adhoc reporting, score carding, crafting presentation decks, participation update emails, analysis and recommendations, and all other admin support 

  • Support the Talent Review by taking detailed notes, updating talent grids, cleaning up files for final review with leadership team 

  • Admin support for training sessions – Open Mic, Mental Health, Workshops. Support note taking, analysis, and follow up in Let’s Chat sessions. 

  • Assist Sr. Director and HRBP’s with all other research, analysis and implementation of programs, root cause analysis and identifying solutions, reports, projects, and crafting presentation decks as required 

  • Assist with Blue Culture activities, research and plan events and ideas for team building events and recognition ideas 

  • All other admin support as required such as adhoc reporting, photocopying, filing, labeling, booking meeting rooms, etc. 

  • Continuing your education by completing some of Loblaw’s great e-learning courses, attending workshops, training and seminars 

What You'll Need: 

  • Post-secondary education preferably in Human Resources and acquired (or working towards) HR Management Certification 

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization 

  • Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information 

  • Solid digital literacy required in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) 

  • Solid understanding of databases and the tools used to report/monitor them 

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) 

  • Customer focused and able to nurture positive customer relations 

  • Highly organized and has a high degree of attention to detail 

  • Strong analytical skills and superior ability to problem-solve
