Position Overview
Join Tencent's International Accounting Hub as a Financial Accountant and be at the forefront of our global finance operations. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in steering our financial reporting processes and ensuring compliance with international standards. Reporting directly to the Head of Department, you'll oversee a range of critical functions, including journal entry preparation, general ledger management, and financial control. Responsibilities
- Perform IFRS accounting and Local GAAP adjustments, including journal entry preparation.
- Manage GL activities such as asset registers, treasury, intercompany transactions, payroll, and employee entitlements to ensure accurate and timely month/year-end closings.
- Assume ownership of financial controls on financial master data and general ledger, including balance sheet reconciliation and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, best practices, and local government regulations.
- Liaise with various departments and key stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare financial reports, investigate variances, and respond to inquiries.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure accurate and timely completion of local statutory reports, analysis, appendices, and relevant board papers.
- Provide support and/or attend management board meetings related to financial report approvals.
- Prepare technical accounting advice and memos, contributing to major transactions, including the adoption of new/amended accounting standards, acquisitions, capital and debt raising, etc.
- Establish and maintain financial statement models, templates, standard operating procedures, work papers, processes, and systems supporting report deliverables across the team.
- Undertake systems projects such as BI, HFM, etc., with the objective of creating efficiencies and automating the reporting process.
- Take a proactive approach to identify opportunities for process improvements in the full financial reporting process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Accountancy or equivalent field.
- CA or CPA qualified, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in MNCs or professional firms.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS and financial statement disclosures, demonstrated in a commercial environment or professional firm.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation experience.
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese would be highly advantageous for processing and analysing the financial documents in the language.
- Highly skilled and experienced in implementing organizational systems, procedures, and processes.
- Proficiency in Oracle (or similar) general ledger or Hyperion is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize, meet strict deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Professional work ethic, strong personal integrity, and stewardship.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team, show initiative, and be self-motivated.
