We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Sr. Engineer I - Manufacturing Operations supporting Surgical Manufacturing Engineering, you will be in a very ‘hands-on’ and manufacturing support centric role at Sinking Spring, PA.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Will be responsible for supporting the following machinery and equipment systems:
    • Automation Control Systems (PLCs, motor drives, robotics, sensors, etc.)
    • Electrical/Electronic Systems
    • Electromechanical Systems
    • Vision Systems
    • Robotic Systems
    • Tooling Systems

  • Process Types Supported
    • Automated Micro-Assembly Processes
    • Electrochemical Processes
    • Automated Cleaning Processes
    • Micro-Forging Processes
    • Heat Treat Processes

  •  Assist with the development, acquisition, installation, and implementation of new machinery, equipment, and manufacturing systems.
  • Conduct tests throughout all stages of production to resolve control over applicable variables and fix/solve production problems
  • Guide to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best apply equipment and manufacturing techniques
  • Recommend design changes to improve equipment efficiency, optimization, and reduced cost of operation.
  • Support documentation such as engineering change notices, standard operating procedures, etc.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs.; Assoc.+6yrs; M.S.+0 yrs.) The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 1 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
  • Travel Requirements: Like domestic or international (Percentage)
  • Relocation assistance/Sponsorship available: No

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills, as related to manufacturing machinery and equipment, and associated processes.
  • Excellent work ethic, communication skills, interpersonal skills, and collaboration skills.
