Role Overview

The Mechanical Team Lead is responsible for managing a team that covers all aspects of Mechanical Maintenance on the plant to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operations.

Your Impact

• Lead, mentor, and develop the mechanical maintenance team to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient day‑to‑day plant operations.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive, corrective, and outage-related maintenance activities to optimise equipment performance and plant availability.
• Oversee and quality-check all maintenance work, ensuring accurate documentation, CMMS compliance, and adherence to controlled procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement by troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues and guiding the team to effective resolutions.
• Maintain strong collaboration with Operations, EHS, Stores, and Procurement to support safe working practices, inventory accuracy, and efficient maintenance workflows.
• Ensure full compliance with site EHS policies, leading inspections, audits, and housekeeping initiatives to maintain a safe working environment.
• Develop training plans, succession pipelines, and capability growth within the mechanical maintenance function.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

The ideal candidate is a highly skilled mechanical maintenance leader with strong technical expertise, excellent people leadership capability, and a proven ability to drive safe, reliable, and efficient power plant operations who can demonstrate:

• Previous experience leading mechanical maintenance teams in a heavy industrial or power generation environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and working familiarity with electrical and instrument/control systems.
• Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance programs using a CMMS.
• A solid understanding of EHS regulations, with the ability to champion safe work practices and compliance.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and functions.
