This position supports the department by providing clinical leadership oversight on quality chart abstraction for numerous retrospective research studies in collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry and academic partners. This person will directly supervise a team of Clinical Data Quality Leads, and will need to continue to leverage expertise in the use of and review of EHR data abstracted in the electronic data capture system. 

Strong leadership skills are a must, with the ability to collaborate with teams of diverse professionals, coordinate between multiple stakeholders, and plan, and meets chart review timeline deliverables. Additionally, this position has expertise in conducting chart abstraction in the EHR, performing quality checks on charts reviews conducted by resources, and assisting with capacity planning and resource management activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision of Clinical Data Quality Leads
  • Oversee and lead a team of Clinical Data Quality Leads as well as provide oversight of the chart abstraction team and others as appropriate
  • Align with eCRF developers, as needed
  • Align with RWR study team to advocate for direct report and / or support work efforts
  • Interact with education team to identify keep opportunities for learning and development (for direct reports, as well as for external abstraction team)
  • Partner with technical lead to strategically align data collection with data quality priorities
  • Interact with all project teams, as needed, to help scope clinical deliverables
  • Consult with the leadership team on process improvement initiatives
  • Follow appropriate policies and procedures
  • Provide insight and recommendations to improve data quality control processes; ensure alignment with study team and functional peer group for maintenance of best practices
  • Responsible for conducting chart reviews, performing quality checks on charts reviews conducted by chart review resources, and assisting with capacity planning and resource management activities.
  • Define the complexity of chart reviews for specific disease processes

Minimum Requirement

  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 6+ years of professional experience and 0-2 years of supervisory experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Life Science or Nursing

Critical Skills

  • 6+ years of healthcare experience in an oncology setting with 1+ year in a supervisory role
  • At least 1 year of experience with patient chart review or data entry
  • Excellent organizational, written and communication skills
  • Oncology clinical experience strongly preferred

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$92,400 - $154,000
