Job Title: Lean 6 Sigma Black Belt 

Salary Grade: £57,730 per annum depending on experience 

Location: Shrewsbury

About IPSD  

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary  

Leads, manages, and supports projects related to process and product improvements using Lean, Six Sigma and project management methodologies to achieve business goals. 

 

What You Will Do:  

• Designing and developing Six Sigma programs, including supporting systems and tools, for quality and business process improvement.  

• Leading and managing Six Sigma project portfolios to achieve measurable business process improvements.  

• Providing technical training and guidance for Green Belt professionals on the planning, development and implementation of Six Sigma projects.  

• Employing Six Sigma methodology into organizational operations to meet business goals and objectives.

- Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance.  

- Makes a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions.  

- Uses flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. to disclose meaningful data patterns. - Identifies the major forces, events and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand.  

- Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.

Prerequisites Required  

 Bachelor's degree  

• Project Experience  

 

Desired: 

• Lean Intermediate Program  

• Team Leadership Experience 

 Prior Lean Green Belt Training  

• Strong Project Management Skills  

 Drivetrain or drivetrain components' specific experience

 

This role will report directly to the regional Drivetrain category manager.
