Job Summary
Seeking a trademark and copyright lawyer to provide legal support, including in the new and evolving area of artificial intelligence (AI), as a member of the Legal Department’s Intellectual Property Team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and evaluating requests to utilize AI technologies, providing trademark and copyright advice, and identifying potential legal risks across the company. The ideal candidate will possess a growth mindset, a collaborative attitude, and curiosity about cutting-edge technologies.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Provides intellectual property advice in response to requests to implement AI technologies within Comcast.
- Monitors developments in the area of AI and IP law to help maintain and update best practices and policies.
- Performs legal research in the area of trademarks and copyrights, as appropriate to resolve legal issues.
- Consults with and supervises outside counsel as needed.
- Operates with a moderate level of supervision with no direct management responsibilities.
- Carries out/performs duties consistent with strategic plans and directives as determined by more senior level management and attorneys.
- Consistent exercise of independent and sound judgment.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree with strong academic credentials.
- Member of a state bar in good standing and eligible for Pennsylvania Bar or Pennsylvania Limited In-House Corporate Counsel License.
- Minimum 4-6 years combined of experience in a top law firm or in-house legal department.
- Strong background in intellectual property law and litigation.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple business units.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. As necessary, may be able to work nights and weekends, and variable schedule(s).
