Ensuring integrity on critical infrastructure is maintained is a key component of our pipeline safety program at Enbridge by applying both field and office-based corrosion prevention strategies.
 

In this role, you will conduct cathodic protection surveys, corrosion control services and corrosion inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements for pipeline and facility assets for our pipelines system right of way.

What you will do:

  • Performs regulatory-driven cathodic protection surveys and maintenance to ensure compliance and prevention program effectiveness.

  • Test and troubleshoot cathodic protection system and equipment to ensure effective operation.

  • Tests, inspects, maintains and troubleshoots assigned rectifier, bond, test stations, and coupons.

  • Support the atmospheric corrosion inspection and maintenance program to maintain equipment integrity and ensure compliance.

  • Utilize Pipeline Compliance System (PCS) software to record, monitor, and evaluate cathodic protection and atmospheric corrosion data to ensure compliance with company and regulator requirements.

  • Assists in planning work and contributing budget related information as required, consistent with the annual budgeting process.

Who you are:

  • Certification, diploma or degree in corrosion technology or related field.

  • 4 or more years of related experience with cathodic protection systems.

  • AMPP/NACE CP Level I Certification or higher or Equivalent Certification.

  • Effective interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated, independent, innovative, responsible and a phenomenal teammate with a strong work ethic and initiative.

  • Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.

  • Has a valid passport and able to travel within Canada and the US.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment for 70% of the time.

  • Travel is 30%, primarily driving.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, pulling hand over hand, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
