Position Overview: 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our Global Data Science team and contribute to our Generative AI initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, a keen interest in commodities markets, and a passion for Data Science and AI. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing generative AI tools, collaborating with various teams, and contributing to projects with significant commercial impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of a strategic roadmap for integrating generative AI technologies into the firm's trading operations.
  • Collaborate with analysts and technologists to support the delivery of AI-driven projects.
  • Contribute to ensuring the scalability, reliability, and robustness of generative AI tools in a production environment.
  • Help build and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support data ingestion and processing.
  • Participate in managing projects, data cataloging, and metadata for the Generative AI initiative.
  • Work closely with traders, analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Communicate complex AI concepts and outcomes to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Stay up to date on the latest advancements in generative AI, identifying opportunities for innovation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation date of Winter 2025 or Spring/Summer 2026
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Familiarity with data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas, NumPy).
  • Basic understanding of generative AI concepts and tools (e.g., LLMs, ChatGPT, RAG, Fine-tuning, Foundation Models).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
