Duties & Responsibilities

Join our UMB CLO Compliance & Analytics Team, where we handle critical financial modeling, reviewing, and stress testing of compliance models for Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs) and related transactions. As a Compliance Modeling Analyst, you’ll ensure our models are meticulously developed, reviewed, and tested in alignment with transaction documentations to maintain top-tier quality standards.

You will work closely with the VP of Analytics & Strategic Initiatives. While an in-person position at UMB’s Orange County, CA office is strongly preferred, the role is open to remote applicants with the expectation of periodic travel.

  • Model Development & Review: Develop and review financial models for CLO’s and related transactions, interpreting transaction requirements, including, but not limited to: Rating Derivations, Recovery Rates, Concentration Limitations, Collateral Quality, Overcollateralization Tests, Interest Coverage Tests and Waterfall (Priority of Payments).
  • Configuration & Testing: Configure models based on documentation specifications, rigorously stress test them, and address feedback to align with team standards.
  • Workflow & Automation: Maintain automated processes that streamline functionality, enhancing operational efficiency and performance.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with the Relationship Managers to ensure the modeling & resulting data match client expectations.
  • Project Reporting: Build templates that generate the monthly compliance and quarterly waterfall reports based on transaction modeling.
  • Deal Maintenance: Provide continuous maintenance and support of both deal modeling and reporting for the full transaction lifecycle.
  • Communication: Identify and communicate any potential gaps with current system and processes and develop requirements for modeling updates.
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting: Support CLO Operations by providing as needed reporting in support of CLO Business Solutions and Fund Accounting.

Knowledge & Skills

MINIMUM:

  • Strong understanding of Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs), legal documentation, data structures, waterfall mechanics and deal cash flow models.
  • Ability to navigate complex datasets and make informed decisions using critical thinking.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, with a client-oriented approach.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with Solvas Compliance & Priority of Payments (PoP)
  • Experience with SSRS and PowerBi Reporting
  • Proven skills with: SQL/ Python/Visual Basic

Requirements

MINIMUM:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years in CLO, CDO, or other structured finance transaction experience.

PREFERRED:

  • Relevant professional certifications

Work Environment:

Typical office environment, potential for minimal travel

Supervision/Management: 

May have management accountabilities.

Compensation Range:

Minimum: $69,230.00 - Maximum: $179,300.00
