Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Providing and expanding access to affordable, nutritious food for all consumers is central to Walmart’s core business. A critical component of this is ensuring Walmart offers products under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). As the Director of the WIC/SNAP Compliance team under Consumer Protection, you will be responsible for serving as the lead subject matter expert and leading a team of associates who manage relationships with WIC agencies and execute programs designed to ensure compliance with WIC and SNAP requirements for products sold by Walmart and Sam’s Club.

You’ll make an impact by: 

  • Serving as the lead subject matter expert for WIC and SNAP regulatory programs.
  • Setting the strategic vision for the WIC/SNAP team and creating objectives to drive the execution of the team’s goals.
  • Designing and running programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and tribal agency requirements.
  • Supervising a team of associates responsible for building and executing compliance programs.
  • Working with external regulators, industry associations, and internal stakeholders on key WIC and SNAP initiatives. 
  • Working effectively with technology and product teams to enhance and automate compliance controls.
  • Overseeing the expansion of WIC and SNAP programs.
  • Working with the Consumer Protection Group Director to identify and mitigate emerging compliance risks.

  • You have experience working in compliance and/or acting as a subject matter expert in federal or state regulatory law.
  • You have experience building and executing compliance programs, interpreting legal obligations and determining business impact. 
  • You’re process-minded and have a solid track record of delivering operational efficiencies to a program risk and/or compliance program.
  • You have experience leading teams and communicating with multiple stakeholders.​
  • You are a strategic and collaborative compliance leader that employs a growth mindset to translate business challenges into actionable solutions. 
  • You are someone with excellent communication skills who builds trust and credibility and inspires associates across the business. 
  • You are action-oriented, resourceful, and approachable while also having the ability to influence and lead change.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 5 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 3 years’ supervisory experience. 4 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
