Description:

Manager Pharmacy - Peri-operative Services and Controlled Substances Management

 In this role, the Pharmacy manager will be responsible with overseeing peri-operative Pharmacy services and controlled substances management. Develop operational practices and manage staff of the OR Pharmacy satellite and Control Substance management.  Collaborate with nurses, anesthesia, and other providers on developing best practices for perioperative services.  Work with colleagues throughout the Pharmacy Enterprise to meet strategic goals.  Schedules, controls and maintains duties of all pharmacy personnel both professional and non-professional. Assists pharmacists in the performance of their duties. Controls and maintains the delivery of medications. Inspects the work area and insures a clean and orderly work area. Evaluates employee job performance in conjunction with the Director. Records and submits weekly payroll reports. Supervises the compounding and dispensing of special extemporaneous medications and pharmaceuticals supplies. Manages control records of narcotics, poisons and habits-forming drugs in accordance with external regulatory agencies and hospital policy.

Preferred Criteria:

  • 3 years of experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting
  • PGY-1 or PGY-2 residency completion
  • Management experience 
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations that govern controlled substances
  • Experience with sterile compounding and automated dispensing cabinets
  • Masters of Science in Pharmacy, Masters of Business Administration or a Masters in Public Health

Required Criteria:

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
  • Degree from an ACPE-accredited college of Pharmacy
  • NYS License
  • Three years hospital pharmacy experience

$147,500-$220,500/Annual
