Cancer Center Clinic
LVN-Full Time(M-F 8-5)

The UMC Cancer Center has a Clinic and Infusion Center that provide care to adult and pediatric patients with non-cancerous, hematology and/or oncology conditions.
o Chemotherapy administration and practices are followed using ONS guidelines and institutional policies and procedures. Protocol participation is also available. Therapies include but are not limited to: chemotherapy via ambulatory infusion pump, intravenous, intrathecal, IM or SQ route, therapeutic phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, anti-emetic therapy, IV immunotherapy and IV hydration.
o Clinic nurses are responsible for coordination of care with provider, messages, medication refills, ensuring patient appointments are scheduled and the effective management of the overall clinic.
o


•Professional nurse who assesses, delegates, and reviews nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing patient care for a group of patients per scope of practice. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.
•Completion of ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy required within 90 days.

Qualifications
•Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
•Valid Texas LVN License/Eligible Compact License
•Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
Orientation
* Experienced LVN (minimum of 1 year)
