Responsibilities:
Oversee the compliance function of the Branch.
Develop, evaluate and oversee the compliance control frameworks and systems to ensure compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, internal policies and procedures and any other regulatory expectations.
Provide advisory support to business units in the development, implementation and regular review of policies and procedures for BU operations with due regard to all applicable relevant policies and guidelines, statutory and regulatory requirements.
Work with business and support units to ensure internal controls are in compliance with HKMA / SFC rules and regulations and the relevant laws and statutory requirements.
Review and maintain the compliance monitoring systems and undertake investigations into any suspicious transactions or complaints made by both internal and external customers.
Perform regular tracking on all outstanding regulatory and/or audit issues or findings not yet resolved or responded by the Branch.
Participate in the local ALCO and Risk & Compliance Governance Committee meetings.
Provide updates to the Board about compliance related issues and provide solutions etc.
Ensuring KYC / CDD process is compliant with internal and external requirements.
Keeping abreast of new regulatory requirements related to compliance.
Requirements:
Degree holder preferably in Law, Accountancy, Finance, Economics or Business Administration.
Professional level of qualification under the Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) for Banking Practitioners in relevant stream(s) is preferable.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in compliance and/or audit in a banking and financial institution.
Well-versed with the HKMA’s and the SFC’s rules and regulations, Code of Banking Practice, PDPO, Deposit Protection Scheme, AML/CFT, CDD/KYC, FATCA and CRS compliance etc.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing through all levels of the organization.
Proactive, mature, independent with a positive working attitude and strong sense of responsibilities.
Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
