RMIT University is seeking an experienced people leader to lead a specialist enterprise applications team supporting critical Finance and Procurement systems across the University. This role is best suited to someone who thrives leading high-performing teams, builds strong stakeholder relationships and can sustain a collaborative, accountable and positive team culture within a complex organisational environment. While experience with enterprise Finance systems is important, this role is fundamentally about leadership, operational delivery and supporting an engaged and effective team that partners successfully across the business.
About the Role
The Senior Manager, Workday will lead a team responsible for the support, enhancement and continuous improvement of enterprise Finance and Procurement systems. You will work closely with stakeholders across Technology, Finance and Procurement to ensure systems and processes effectively support operational outcomes and evolving business needs. The role requires someone who can bring people together, provide clear direction and foster a strong service-focused culture while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing specialist team
Building a collaborative, accountable and positive team culture
Managing operational support, enhancement delivery and system improvements
Partnering effectively with stakeholders across Finance, Procurement and Technology
Driving continuous improvement and service excellence initiatives
Supporting governance, prioritisation and operational planning activities
Managing enterprise platform issues, risks and escalations where required
About You
You are a strong and approachable leader with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
You bring experience leading teams within complex environments and understand how to create a culture where people are engaged, accountable and focused on delivering outcomes.
You will ideally bring:
Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams
Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills
A collaborative and relationship-focused leadership style
Experience working within enterprise technology, Finance or operational environments
Strong organisational and problem-solving capability
The ability to manage competing priorities and drive outcomes
A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational effectiveness
Financial systems or accounting knowledge that enables effective partnership with Finance stakeholders
Experience with Workday would be ideal however relevant experience with another enterprise Finance platforms (ERP) will be considered as well. Leadership capability, collaboration and team culture are the critical success factors for this role.
