We are looking for a senior Benefits Specialist to share your passion and expertise in benefits and wellness, delivering day-to-day support for Blue Origin employees and our group benefits (e.g., group health, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending plan, HSA, etc.) programs. Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Benefits, you will significantly contribute to the execution of Blue Origin’s healthcare, wellness, and other benefit programs. Key responsibilities include:
Administering group benefits programs, such as medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
Collaborating with plan vendors to resolve eligibility and claims questions and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
Analyzing benefits reports to address errors and collaborating with payroll and HR tech teams for effective resolutions.
Serving as a resource for team members, HR Service Desk, employees, departments, retirees, dependents, and service providers for benefits-related queries.
Assisting in the development and delivery of educational materials and activities for annual open enrollment and maintaining web content.
Providing suggestions for continuous improvements in employees’ benefits education.
Assisting with the preparation and compliance of government filings, plan audits, and other tax-reporting requirements, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Ensuring accurate completion of benefits enrollment through self-service in the HR system.
Assisting with the implementation of new benefit plans, systems, processes, vendors, and acquisitions.
Monitoring and analyzing claim and premium data as needed.
Troubleshooting and resolving file integration issues, error reports, customer concerns, and enrollment system configurations.
Advising and supporting HR Service Desk team members who provide Tier 1 benefits support.
Managing and maintaining employee benefits records in Workday and processing new hire and qualifying event transactions.
Driving consistent improvements by evaluating internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Documenting and maintaining administrative procedures for benefits processes.
Performing other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field; four (4) years of related work experience including prior experience as a benefits specialist; preferably in a Workday environment with direct experience handling company benefits, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Deep subject matter expertise of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, USERRA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, Social Security, and DOL requirements.
Proficiency in analyzing data and reports to resolve issues.
Experience with HR systems, especially Workday, is highly preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, vendors, and other teams.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Capability to develop educational materials and conduct engaging employee sessions.
Proactive in suggesting improvements and driving process enhancements.
Driven, innovative, and resourceful thinker capable of adapting and driving positive, progressive change proactively.
Excellent project management, organizational, communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship skills.
Strong attention to detail, and the ability to accurately deliver in a fast-paced environment.
Solid analytical capabilities, decision-making skills, and the ability to exercise appropriate judgment.
High level of discretion with strong integrity and the ability to effectively manage and maintain the confidentiality of information.
Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office 365.
Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through on own initiative with minimum direction.
Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
Team-oriented with the ability to mentor junior members of the team.

Desired Qualifications:
Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), and/or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation preferred.
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $134,608.50-$188,451.90Other site ranges may differ

Benefits
Benefits include: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
Discretionary bonus: Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
