Payroll and Benefits Specialist UK
LOCATION: Manchester (Occasional travel to other sites in Goole/Chester)
REPORTS TO: HR Manager

This is a part-time job with requirement of 22.5 hours, 5 days a week. Ideally working 5 days a week OR 4 days, Tuesday – Friday, a week.
The Payroll and Benefits Analyst manages, coordinates, and delivers payroll, pensions and benefits services and administration as part of the employee rewards across three business areas in UK, as well as resolving queries/topics from employees.
Core Responsibilities:
Payroll
- Manage the end-to-end payroll activities of three UK payrolls (140+ employees 06/24) using ADP iHCM2 i.e., ensure accurate preparation, calculations and balancing of UK payrolls including payroll checks and resolving errors.
- Liaise with the outsourced payroll provider on annual tax related processes e.g., P11D, Form 42 and P60.
- Coordinate other associated activities such as payroll reports etc.
Compensation & Benefits
- Support with annual pay review and bonus processes aligned to the Company framework. Implement Compensation changes in Payroll.
- Supporting Salary Survey data collection.
- Support the pay review and bonus process.
- Deliver the annual flexible benefits enrollment project.
- Coordinate monthly pension payments and conduct audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Managing the benefits renewal and ensuring appropriate sign-off to ensure alignment with the rewards policies
- Manage all benefits administration such as new starters, leavers, and updates.
- Coordinating the UK company car programme.
HR Administration
Provide peer support and backup to HR Analyst including but not limited to (whenever needed): -
- Update local employee files and systems to ensure an accurate record of information.
- Support time and attendance (Realtime) activities including reviewing/auditing and resolving any queries.
- Conducting Audits on employee files, Payroll (ADP) and HRIS (Workday).
- Preparing, reviewing, and approving letters in conjunction with the HR Shared Services Team.
- Supporting with other HR activities and projects as required.
- Create process maps for all payroll and benefits processes.
Care First
- Support local community relations and initiatives.
- Participate in the site safety committee and engage with the Site team to embed the best practices.
- Implement, support, and promote Employee Well-being Initiatives
Qualified candidates will have:
Mandatory requirements:
- Strong experience/expertise in Payroll and Benefits
- Understanding of payroll and HMRC/Tax regulations
- Advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, V-look up, formatting etc.
- HR Systems Knowledge.
- Knowledge of the full HR operations processes / employee life cycle
Desirable requirements:
- Payroll or CIPD qualification
- Experience of using Workday and/or ADP Realtime (Time and Attendance)
- Prior HR Generalist/ Administration experience
- Working knowledge of HR policies, practices, and procedures and UK Employment law
