Cybersecurity, Managing Director

West Monroe has an opportunity for a Managing Director-level leader that has retained hands-on abilities to join our nationwide Technology & Experience practice and to lead our national Cybersecurity team.  This role will focus on leading the creation and delivery of cybersecurity services as well as provide our clients thought leadership on applying new security technologies to make their business more secure and resilient.  This technology leader will be responsible for key client account ownership, scoping, selling, and acting as the Engagement Lead for cybersecurity related projects. This leader must be based in Chicago, New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Dallas. 

Managing Director-level team members within West Monroe have three main responsibilities: 

Business Development 

  • Hunt new strategic clients – using relationships and other proven business development skills 
  • Initiate and lead business development meetings with prospective clients 
  • Understand investment needs and requirements and help turn those goals into concrete engagements and detailed proposals 
  • Create pricing estimates and project proposals/approaches
  • Attend networking events and actively build and leverage a professional network and affiliate network in the local community
  • Maintain a strong professional network of contacts in the local market 

Client Delivery 

  • Expertise in cybersecurity coupled with the ability to communicate issues to C-Level executives and boards on cybersecurity approaches and market dynamics
  • Strategic leadership on teams serving clients across industries while demonstrating executive presence with senior-level client counterparts
  • Interface with all levels of business and technology leadership both internally and at clients
  • Close alignment with the day-to-day cybersecurity project leaders
  • Facilitate client workshops focused on project initiation and executive steering meetings
  • Ensure proper management of project economics including pricing, budgets, and adjustments
  • Mentor and manage teams of technical and business consultants and QA the plans and work done by the team 

Practice Development 

  • Lead the strategic direction of the Cybersecurity team and actively lead entrepreneurial activities to expand offerings and the skills of the team
  • Drive the development/enhancement of West Monroe’s methodologies and approaches to cybersecurity project delivery
  • Coach and manage other consultants and actively participate in the performance management process
  • Actively participate in recruiting and retaining top quality consultants 

Qualifications 

  • Proven leader with extensive ability to build solid and collaborative relationships with team members, foster a productive team environment, and coach staff with timely meaningful written and verbal feedback 
  • A bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Engineering major or equivalent work experience  
  • Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in client-facing business and technology consulting services with projects and teams of cybersecurity engineers, consultants, and architects
  • Expertise in cybersecurity strategy and risk management
  • Prior experience in a CISO or Security Leadership position, or Consulting background
  • Commitment to continued professional information security advancement i.e. CISSP, SANS GIAC series or other certifications
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50%+ is required 

 

Based on pay transparency guidelines, a reasonable expectation for the salary range for this role is listed below. Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here.  Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.​ Employees in proximity of our Seattle, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco offices will have a geographic premium applied to this salary scale.

Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use after successful completion of one year of employment.​
